Spending the summer in Berlin – API Blog

Today’s blog post comes to us from one of our summer 2019 #APIabroad bloggers! We’ll be introducing you to the whole team soon, so be sure to check back often!

A friend and I pose in confusion with “Burnt das Brot”, a German cartoon character. This was on my study abroad last year, on a tour of Erfurt.

My name is Jesse Plichta-Kellar (she/her) and I’m studying abroad in Berlin, Germany.

I’m a rising senior at Longwood University with a double major in German and Public History with a minor in International Studies. This is actually my second time studying abroad in Germany. Last year I went to Münster (Muenster). I can speak (and write) some German and my hope is to improve my German.

Me biking home from school on the last day of classes for my study abroad last year. Germans aren’t scary, but German cyclists are!
