New Program – Summer Biennale Art Festival in Venice ~

API is excited to announce a new summer option for students looking to study art in one of Italy’s timeless cities – Venice.

The API summer Biennale program is run in conjunction with Marist College and Lorenzo de’Medici – The Italian International Institute (LdM). Located on the Island of Murano, this program will immerse students in the unique culture of Venice, Italy, surrounded by the works of artists, both the past and present during the Venice Biennale, all the while providing an intense studio experience. Students will have the opportunity to develop a significant body of studio work, while experiencing Venice through its museums; such as the Gallerie dell’Accademia, Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Scuola San Rocco, Punta della Dogana, and the Biennale festival itself.

The Venice Biennale is the world’s oldest and most prestigious art exposition. Since its foundation in 1895, it has been in the avant-garde, promoting new artistic trends and organizing international events in the contemporary arts in accordance with a multi-disciplinary model which characterizes its unique nature. This program gives students the opportunity to explore the work of global contemporary artists featured at the Biennale sites and museums while immersing themselves in a rigorous studio experience in a modern, spacious facility on Murano. In addition to developing their own work, students will have the opportunity to be trained by local experts working in glass. Students in the program focus on creating a body of work that will culminate in an exhibition that will be an ancillary project of the Biennale. The concentrations are painting, drawing, sculpture, digital photography and other media. Students are expected to have a strong background in studio art and art history.

Don’t miss this fabulous opportunity to study at the oldest art expo in the world – apply today!
