THEY studied there?! Famous alumni from API’s overseas partner schools

In our first installment of this series, we take a look at some of the famous alumni who attended University College London (UCL). We were fortunate to receive a visitor from UCL this week in our Austin, Texas offices, who brought to our attention some of the amazing people that have studied at that prestigious institution over the years.

  • Ricky Gervais of “An Idiot Abroad” and other comedic gems…
  • Chris Martin and all three other members of the band Coldplay, as well as two members of the band Keane.
  • Christopher Nolan – writer/director of the movie Inception
  • Scottish/American inventor Alexander Graham Bell
  • Physicist Rodger Penrose
  • Francis Crick – discoverer of the structure of DNA

UCL's main building

UCL is ranked by most services in the top 10 in the world, and as high as #4 overall. It was the 3rd official university in England (after Oxford and Cambridge), and has averaged 1 Noble Prize winner per decade of its existence – not many schools can compete with that! The Huffington Post also highlighted UCL in its recent article The World’s Most Prestigious Universities!

API students can study a range of subjects in the arts and humanities, architecture and built environment, engineering, life sciences, mathematics and physical sciences, Slavonic and East European studies, and social and historical sciences. NEW courses have also been added for study abroad students in pediatrics and international relations. For a complete list of courses available to API study abroad students, click here.

Impressed? You should be; but remember, your name could be on this list someday too. Apply today!
