Congratulations to the following API students who were awarded significant scholarships from the Benjamin A. Gliman International Scholarship Program.

  • Kyle Bell-Colfer from the University of Maine, who will be studying abroad with API for the academic year in Madrid, Spain
  • Emma Cannon from Fairfield University, who will be studying abroad with API for the academic year in Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • Mercedez Hart from Agnes Scott College, who will be studying abroad with API for the academic year in Bilbao, Spain
  • Layla Musa from Georgia State University, who will be studying abroad with API for the fall in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
  • Jesus Trillo from the University of Texas at El Paso, who will be studying abroad with API for the fall in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

In addition to the sizable award bestowed on the students by the Gilman program, API will be awarding up to $1,000 to each student.

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies abroad. Award recipients are chosen by a competitive selection process and must use the award to defray eligible study abroad costs. This congressionally funded program is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State and is administered by the Institute of International Education through its Southern Regional Center in Houston, TX.
