Fall API Photo Contest Winners

The API Fall 2011 Photo Contest winners have been chosen! After much difficult deliberation (and comments on the Flickr photoset), the API staff selected the following winners and honorable mention from among a pool of very talented photographers.

1) First Place ($100 cash prize)

Michael Pitts, student from Quinnipiac University in API’s program at Lorenzo de’Medici – the Italian International Institute in Florence, Italy. Michael submitted several amazing photos, but the one that raised the most eyebrows was this photo at the British Museum in London.

2) Second Place ($50 cash prize)

Kaitlin Desselle, student from the University of Florida in API’s Spanish Culture program at Complutense University in Madrid, Spain. Kaitlin also had too many amazing photos to chose from, but the one that caught our imagination was this hauntingly beautiful view of the Alhambra fortress at night.
