What is QUIP?

The Forum’s QUIP program is a rigorous process of self-study and peer review. It recognizes institutions and organizations for meeting the Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad while offering suggestions and recommendations for quality improvement.

“Through the QUIP review process, it was important to us to demonstrate API’s commitment to the Standards of Best Practice and to ensure that we continue to respond to the evolving needs of study abroad participants and our university partners,” says API President and CEO, Jennifer Attal Allen. “The rigorous self-study provided us an opportunity to examine every aspect of our programming, policies, and services, and the site visits by QUIP Peer Reviewers and Forum staff allowed us to showcase our strong commitment to customer service, emergency preparedness, student support, and our committed API personnel. It was a pleasure to be recognized as being in substantial conformity with all of the Standards of Best Practice and we look forward to incorporating their feedback to grow API even stronger in the future!”

What does this mean for you?

This recognition means students, teachers, university partners, volunteers and more can be assured that they’re receiving high quality service in the field of international education. API would like to thank the Forum on Education Abroad, the review committee, and our colleagues in the field of international education for helping to create and uphold these important standards.

The Forum on Education Abroad is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that develops and disseminates comprehensive standards of good practice, resources and training, advocates for education abroad and its value, and engages the field in critical dialogue to benefit students. The Forum is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission as the Standards Development Organization for Education Abroad.
