API Safety Update – Italy Earthquake

API Resident Directors have confirmed the safety of all API participants in Italy, following a earthquake near the town of Lorcia in the central part of the country (northeast of Rome), that caused a great amount of localized damage and killed over 30 people.

#APIbulletin Chile Earthquake Update

An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 on the Richter scale occurred roughly 11 miles from the central Chilean city of Los Andes. All API students in Chile have been accounted for and there have been no reports of human injuries or infrastructure damages within our locations of Valparaíso and Viña del Mar.

API on-site staff has confirmed that API students were not traveling in the region, nor were API students injured as a result of the earthquake. Likewise, no effects of the earthquake were felt in any API program sites. API host institutions and API on-site centers are structurally intact in all locations, and the programs are continuing as scheduled.
