The Big Graduation Day

We have successfully completed level A1 of the Polish language!

After a not too terribly difficult final exam, we were awarded our fancy Polish diplomas and our sweet professor invited us all over to her apartment where she prepared cups of tea, introduced us to homemade plum jam (plums are extremely popular in Poland) and showed us how to make tomato soup from scratch. It was seriously delicious. A Swiss girl from class brought over boxes of Swiss chocolate to share for dessert and it was a great time with some wonderful people. I’m going to miss seeing those guys every day!

Two weeks of waking up at seven a.m. to focus on five hours of Polish lessons was a struggle but the gaining the ability to speak conversational Polish so rapidly along with meeting some cool new friends and learning a fabulous tomato soup recipe made it totally worth it!

For anyone considering studying abroad with API in Krakow, I highly recommend the early start program. The two week language immersion has been incredibly useful and important, plus you will not regret spending the extra time in Poland!
