England’s 3rd largest city, Leeds maintains its northern charm while still offering all of the conveniences of a larger city (including being a great transportation hub between London and Edinburgh). Leeds has one of the most dynamic economies in the U.K. (it’s known as the “Commercial Capital of the North”), and is also regarded as one of the U.K.’s “greenest” cities (known as the “Environmental City of the U.K.). The summer engineering pathway at the University of Leeds includes courses on “Introduction to Robotics and Autonomous Systems” and “Smartphone Applications.”
Limerick, Ireland – Summer Deadline April 1, 2015
Limerick is located on the west coast of Ireland, and was founded in the 10th century by the Vikings. It is regarded as a cultural and sporting city, and is ideally situated for outdoor excursions. The University of Limerick is one of the newest and most modern in Ireland, and places a strong focus on engineering and sciences. The University of Limerick has created a special summer program that allows students to focus on engineering studies during an intensive 3-week summer term, and is run by the Department of Mechanical, Aeronautical & Biomedical Engineering (one of three Engineering departments in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Limerick). This program is taught at the 300 level, and is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As an additional component of this summer program, students participate in several program excursions through UL.
